Santa Margarita Solutions Center’s Needs List

We give counseling to many people on a sliding scale and operate mostly from a giving fund.  Your tax deductible donation will go directly to supporting a program that can change someone’s life for the better. 

Needs List

• We need “goodies” to put into our “goodie bags” for fundraising.  These goodies can range from pens, to paper pads, to beanie babies, to toys, to free dinners for the family, to grocery gift cards, Target gift cards, Lowes Gift cards, etc. 

• $500 to go towards the therapy scholarship fund will make it possible for a motivated individual or family who cannot afford therapy to come and better their lives.

• We need a $1000 gift certificate to Amazon.com for the training manuals and books to continue our therapist’s quest toward excellence. 

• We need to get 5 laptops for the therapists to use at their desks and at home.

      >  We need $5,000 to cover the cost of one teen in the substance abuse prevention, summer program for a year.   These teens will be learning how to gain self-confidence and decision making skills to better their coping in the world today.

• We need a vehicle that can bring our senior group members to and from the center to their living quarters.  This vehicle can also transport the teens to and from their activities to help the community.  This vehicle is requested to be one that can transport 7 people (including the driver) and is a hybrid or gas efficient.  Anyone have an old short school bus out there?

• The young mother's group needs $10,000 to have the women meet weekly to work on being the bests people they can be so that they can be great moms.  This in turn helps our community have functional families. 

• $25,000 to operate the special program to support the troops who have been in Iraq and Afghanistan.  “BACK FROM IRAQ” is a support group that helps the soldier feel back in control, be more comfortable as they adjust to civilian life, reduce their pain from injuries, and lessen their Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. 

• We would appreciate free catering to our “Honoring the Iraq Vets Back from Iraq Gratitude Dinner” event held in late October.  We are going to put different country’s foods in each room of the center and need 5 restaurants to sponsor hot finger foods.
